What our customers say
“I wish I could give them more than 5 ⭐️ I cannot say enough good things about this company. Lawton and Tiffany are the best! While their specialty is working and doing custom builds on Jeeps, they sure do know there way around other vehicles as well. I brought in my 2010 Subaru for a once over, they were very up front with what I needed and didn’t try to just make a quick buck off me. They are very thorough. They always kept me updated on the process of my repairs and answered any question I had. I will bring any vehicle I have in the future to them. In a world where companies try to rip people off, it’s a breath of fresh air to find a family owned business where they test you like family! THANKS AGAIN LAWTON AND TIFFANY!”View on Google
“Superior helped us with an oil cooler repair & spark plug replacement that a dealership was trying to charge us a fortune for. Fair prices, quality work, and excellent communication. I have been recommending them to anyone who needs something done!!”View on Google
“Best in the business! These guys are incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to Jeeps, but they do top-notch work on all cars and trucks too. Honest, skilled, and fast—highly recommend!”View on Google
“Definitely take your Jeep or any vehicle for that fact here. They are very dedicated to make sure your vehicle is fixed and fixed correctly. They are great giving updates everyday and if you have any questions they will clearly explain or even put your vehicle up on the lift and walk you through what’s going on.”View on Google
“Honest and quality work! Lawton and his crew go above and beyond for their customers! Highly recommend for all your mechanical and tire needs!”View on Google
“About a month ago, my new to me Wrangler JLU developed a true death wobble. I called multiple shops, and was feeling defeated, then reached out to Superior. With Lawton and the team at Superior Auto & Offroad. They diagnosed my Jeep's death wobble the right way instead of just throwing parts at it. Lawton took the time to test drive it, explain exactly what was wrong, and only recommended what actually needed to be fixed. Fair pricing, honest advice, and excellent workmanship. My Wrangler has since completed a 4-day road trip and multiple trails without a single issue. They've earned my business for the long haul. Highly recommend.”View on Google
“The entire crew at Superior Offroad was incredible to work with. Their professionalism, communication, and commitment to surpassing their customer’s expectations is second to none. I met with multiple shops during the research phase of my upgrades, and none went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I wanted for my Jeep like Lawton and Tiff did. The work was thorough, on time, and very fairly and competitively priced. This shop is 100% worth the hour+ drive I make from south Tampa, and I would highly recommend Superior Offroad to anyone thinking of upgrades or service to their vehicle.”View on Google

“It’s in the name. Superior knowledge on how to build your Jeep to real off-roading capabilities. They’ll do mall crawlers and pavement princesses too but there’s plenty of other shops out there that that’s all they’re good for. Well, not really, you’ll end up having to go to Superior to fix their mistakes. Lol. Also, great at diagnosing engine issues and all things suspension/steering. The best in the Tampa/central Florida area bar none. Don’t waste your time or $ anywhere else.”View on Google
“I had to have my jeep towed to their shop on a weekend. Their team contacted me early Monday and kept me updated on the diagnostics. Within less than a week, they completed not only a ton of front end work we had already planned on, but …”Read the full review on Google

“Superior Offroad is a great shop they diagnosed a few issues my Jeep was having right before a big trip out west and got me up and running just in time not to miss out.”View on Google
“I can’t say enough great things about Superior Off-Road! They took my Jeep to the next level by installing a lift and adding some beastly 42-inch tires. Not only does it look absolutely amazing, but the ride is smoother and more capable than ever. They also went above and beyond with their service and made sure everything was perfect. If you’re looking to upgrade your off-road vehicle, these are the folks to trust. Thanks again, Superior Off-Road!”View on Google

Lift kit installation
From mild leveling kits to full custom suspension systems, we install lifts with the supporting parts they need. Every lift and suspension job gets a post-installation alignment, and we check driveshaft angles, brake line length and steering clearance so the vehicle tracks straight and drives the way it should.
Drivetrain & gear upgrades
Bigger tires put more load on axles, gears and joints. We install ring and pinion sets matched to your tire size, selectable or automatic lockers, and axle reinforcement such as stronger shafts, trusses and differential covers, so the drivetrain can handle hard use and keep the engine working in its intended range.
Performance tuning
Engine upgrades and tuning can improve throttle response, towing performance and drivability. When tires or gearing change, a tune or recalibration can also correct the speedometer and shift points. We focus on safe, reliable gains and explain the trade-offs before anything is changed on your vehicle.
Full custom builds
For larger projects, we help plan the full build from the start: suspension, tires, gearing, armor, lighting and recovery gear. We handle fabrication and assembly, keep you updated as the work progresses, and make sure every component works together instead of fighting each other on the road or trail.

Why Superior
Why build with us
Precision alignment
Post-installation alignment on all lift and suspension work.
Parts that last
Parts designed for performance and heavy use, not generic compromises.
Real off-road experience
We build what we’d trust on the trail ourselves.
Plan the build around how you actually drive
The best builds start with an honest look at how the vehicle gets used. A truck that commutes on I-4 all week and sees a sand trail twice a year needs a very different setup than a dedicated weekend rig. Before we recommend parts, we ask about your daily miles, the terrain you like, whether you tow, and the tire size you have in mind. Those answers shape everything else, from spring rates to gear ratio.
It also helps to think in stages. Many owners start with a lift, wheels and tires, then add gears, lockers or armor as their driving changes. Planning the whole path up front keeps you from buying parts twice, like a short-travel shock that has to come off when you go taller later. We’ll explain your options before any work begins so you can decide what makes sense now and what can wait.
What changes after a lift: alignment, driveline and gearing
Raising a vehicle changes its geometry. Control arms, track bars and tie rods sit at new angles, which affects caster, camber and toe, and can move the axle off center. That’s why every lift and suspension job we do gets a post-installation alignment. Correcting caster in particular helps the steering return to center and track straight, and a well-set alignment helps your new tires wear evenly instead of cupping or feathering.
The driveline needs attention too. More lift means steeper driveshaft angles, which can cause vibration, worn U-joints or a stretched slip yoke. Depending on the vehicle, the fix may be a transfer case drop, adjustable control arms or a different driveshaft. Bigger tires also act like taller gearing, so acceleration suffers and the transmission may hunt between gears. Re-gearing the axles restores the ratio your engine and transmission were designed around.
Street manners vs. trail capability, on any platform
Every upgrade is a trade-off between road comfort and off-road ability. Aggressive mud-terrain tires grip in Florida muck but are louder on the highway. Lockers add traction on the trail, but a selectable locker lets you keep normal handling on pavement. Stiffer springs carry a winch bumper and gear but ride firmer when the truck is empty. Our goal is a vehicle that does what you need without becoming a chore to drive every day.
This work isn’t limited to Jeeps. We plan and install upgrades on full-size pickups, midsize trucks, Broncos and SUVs, and the same principles apply to each. A leveling kit on a half-ton, a lift and tire package on a midsize truck, or a gear swap on an SUV that tows a boat all need correct geometry and matched components. We use quality parts and install them properly so the result holds up.
FAQ
Lift kit & build FAQs
How much lift do I need for bigger tires?
It depends on the vehicle and tire size. We’ll recommend the lift and any supporting changes, like re-gearing, so it drives right.
Will a lift kit affect how my vehicle drives?
A properly installed and aligned lift should drive well. We correct geometry and alignment after every install.
Can I bring my own parts?
We don’t install customer-supplied parts. Sourcing parts ourselves keeps fitment, reliability and warranty coverage on track.
Do you build trucks and SUVs, not just Jeeps?
Yes. We build Jeeps, pickups, Broncos and SUVs.
What’s the difference between a leveling kit and a lift kit?
A leveling kit raises the front of a truck or SUV to match the rear, removing the factory rake and making room for slightly larger tires. A lift kit raises the whole vehicle and usually includes longer shocks, springs or spacers and other supporting parts. We’ll help you decide which fits your tire goals and how you drive.
Will bigger tires throw off my speedometer?
Yes. Taller tires cover more ground per revolution, so the speedometer and odometer read lower than your actual speed and distance. On many vehicles the calibration can be corrected with a programmer or tuning tool. Fixing it also helps transmission shift points and some driver assistance systems work as intended, and it keeps you from speeding without realizing it.
Should hardware be rechecked after a lift is installed?
It’s a good idea. Many lift manufacturers recommend rechecking bolt torque after the first few hundred miles, since bushings and new parts settle in. It’s also a good time to look at alignment, driveshaft angles and tire wear. If anything feels different after your install, like wandering or a new vibration, let us know so we can take a look.
