“I wish I could give them more than 5 ⭐️ I cannot say enough good things about this company. Lawton and Tiffany are the best! While their specialty is working and doing custom builds on Jeeps, they sure do know there way around other vehicles as well. I brought in my 2010 Subaru for a once over, they were very up front with what I needed and didn’t try to just make a quick buck off me. They are very thorough. They always kept me updated on the process of my repairs and answered any question I had. I will bring any vehicle I have in the future to them. In a world where companies try to rip people off, it’s a breath of fresh air to find a family owned business where they test you like family! THANKS AGAIN LAWTON AND TIFFANY!”

“About a month ago, my new to me Wrangler JLU developed a true death wobble. I called multiple shops, and was feeling defeated, then reached out to Superior. With Lawton and the team at Superior Auto & Offroad. They diagnosed my Jeep's death wobble the right way instead of just throwing parts at it. Lawton took the time to test drive it, explain exactly what was wrong, and only recommended what actually needed to be fixed. Fair pricing, honest advice, and excellent workmanship. My Wrangler has since completed a 4-day road trip and multiple trails without a single issue. They've earned my business for the long haul. Highly recommend.”

“The entire crew at Superior Offroad was incredible to work with. Their professionalism, communication, and commitment to surpassing their customer’s expectations is second to none. I met with multiple shops during the research phase of my upgrades, and none went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I wanted for my Jeep like Lawton and Tiff did. The work was thorough, on time, and very fairly and competitively priced. This shop is 100% worth the hour+ drive I make from south Tampa, and I would highly recommend Superior Offroad to anyone thinking of upgrades or service to their vehicle.”

“It’s in the name. Superior knowledge on how to build your Jeep to real off-roading capabilities. They’ll do mall crawlers and pavement princesses too but there’s plenty of other shops out there that that’s all they’re good for. Well, not really, you’ll end up having to go to Superior to fix their mistakes. Lol. Also, great at diagnosing engine issues and all things suspension/steering. The best in the Tampa/central Florida area bar none. Don’t waste your time or $ anywhere else.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Superior Off-Road! They took my Jeep to the next level by installing a lift and adding some beastly 42-inch tires. Not only does it look absolutely amazing, but the ride is smoother and more capable than ever. They also went above and beyond with their service and made sure everything was perfect. If you’re looking to upgrade your off-road vehicle, these are the folks to trust. Thanks again, Superior Off-Road!”

Services

Tire sales, service & alignment

New tire sales

Stock-size replacements plus highway, all-terrain and mud-terrain tires for cars, trucks, SUVs, vans and Jeeps, domestic and import. We match size, load range and speed rating to your vehicle and explain the trade-offs in noise, wear and traction before you decide, so you get a tire that fits how you drive.

Mounting & balancing

We mount new tires on factory or aftermarket wheels, set pressures to spec and balance each assembly so it rolls smoothly at highway speed. Proper balancing helps prevent vibration through the steering wheel and seat, uneven tread wear and extra strain on bearings and suspension parts, from compact cars to large custom sizes.

Tire rotation

Front and rear tires wear differently, especially on front-wheel-drive cars and heavy trucks. Moving them on a regular schedule evens out the wear so the set lasts longer and can be replaced together. During a rotation we also check tread depth, pressures and sidewalls and let you know if anything needs attention.

Flat repair

We take the tire off the wheel and inspect it inside and out before deciding whether it can be fixed. Punctures in the tread area are often repairable with a proper plug-patch. Sidewall or shoulder damage, large holes or a tire that was driven flat for a distance usually means replacement.

Alignment

Four-wheel alignment measures camber, caster and toe and adjusts them to spec where your vehicle allows, so it tracks straight and the tires wear evenly. We align stock cars, trucks and SUVs as well as lifted and leveled vehicles, and every lift and suspension job we complete includes a post-installation alignment.

Warning signs

Signs it’s time for tire service

  • Uneven or rapid tread wear
  • Vibration at highway speed
  • The vehicle pulls to one side
  • Low tread depth or visible cords
  • Bulges or cracks in the sidewall

If you notice any of these, call the shop or book an inspection.

How we help you choose the right tire

Picking a tire starts with how you actually drive. A commuter running I-4 toward Tampa or Orlando every day needs something different from a farm truck on sand roads or a Jeep that sees the trails on weekends. We look at your vehicle, the loads you carry, your mix of highway and dirt, and the size listed on your door placard, then walk you through the options before anything is mounted.

Tread pattern, load range and speed rating all matter. Highway tires usually run quieter and wear longer on pavement. All-terrain tires add grip on sand, grass and gravel with a modest trade in road noise. Mud-terrain tires clear mud well but are louder on the highway and can wear faster. For trucks, vans and SUVs that tow or haul, we make sure the load range fits the work you ask of them.

Florida heat, rain and road hazards

Hot pavement raises tire temperature, and heat speeds up the aging of rubber. Sidewalls can crack on vehicles that sit in the sun, even when the tread still looks deep. Check the date code on the sidewall, because age matters as well as tread, and many tire makers recommend closer inspection once a tire is several years old. If you park outdoors most of the year, have the sidewalls looked at during each rotation.

Summer storms bring standing water, and tread depth is what channels that water away. A tire worn close to the legal minimum loses much of its ability to resist hydroplaning on a flooded stretch of road. Potholes and broken pavement after heavy rain can bend a wheel, bulge a sidewall or knock the alignment out. If you hit one hard and feel a new vibration or pull, have it checked before your next long trip.

Lifted trucks, oversized tires and everyday cars

Going up in tire size affects more than looks. Larger, heavier tires change your speedometer reading, braking feel and effective gear ratio, and they need room to turn and flex without rubbing. We check clearance at full steering lock and through suspension travel, and we tell you honestly whether a leveling kit, lift or re-gear makes sense. Because a lift changes geometry, every lift and suspension job we do gets an alignment afterward.

On everyday cars, crossovers and minivans, the goals are even wear, a quiet ride and steady handling in the rain. Rotating on schedule, keeping pressures at the number on your door placard and catching alignment problems early all stretch the life of a set. Your owner’s manual lists a rotation interval, and pairing it with oil changes makes it easy to remember. We keep you updated on tread depth so replacement never catches you off guard.

FAQ

Wheel & tire FAQs

Can you install oversized tires?

Yes. We can recommend the right size for your vehicle and any lift or leveling needed for clearance.

Do I need an alignment with new tires?

It’s a good idea, especially if you notice pulling or uneven wear. It protects your new tires.

Can my flat tire be repaired?

Many punctures in the tread can be repaired safely. Sidewall damage usually means replacement. We’ll inspect it and tell you.

Can I bring in tires I bought online?

No. We don’t install customer-supplied parts, and that includes tires and wheels. When we supply the tires, we can confirm the size, load range and fitment are right for your vehicle before anything is mounted. Tell us how you drive and what you want to spend, and we’ll lay out options so you can compare them before you decide.

How often should I rotate my tires?

Follow the interval in your owner’s manual. Many vehicles call for a rotation somewhere around every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, and pairing it with oil changes makes it easy to remember. Trucks with aggressive tread and vehicles that carry heavy loads or tow often benefit from staying toward the shorter end of that range.

Why does my steering wheel shake at highway speed?

A shake that shows up around highway speed is often a balance issue, but it can also come from a bent wheel, a tire with internal damage or worn steering and suspension parts. We inspect the tires and wheels first, then check the front end if the cause isn’t there, and explain what we find before any work begins.
